Dealing with Misconduct

Frontiers in Mathematical and Computational Research (FMCR) upholds the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct in research and publication. Misconduct is taken seriously and includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Plagiarism: Plagiarism is the appropriation of another person's ideas, processes, results, or words without giving appropriate credit. This includes:

• Direct Copying: Copying text, images, or data from other sources without proper citation.

• Paraphrasing Substantial Portions: Rewriting significant parts of another’s work without proper attribution.

Fabrication and Falsification:

• Fabrication: Making up data or results and recording or reporting them as if they were obtained through legitimate research.

• Falsification: Manipulating research materials, equipment, processes, or altering/omitting data or results to misrepresent the research findings.

Duplicate Submission: Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is unethical and unacceptable. Authors must ensure that their manuscript is submitted only to Frontiers in Mathematical and Computational Research until a decision is made.

Redundant Publication: Publishing the same or substantially similar material in multiple journals or publications is prohibited. This includes publishing identical data, hypotheses, discussions, or conclusions in different journals or venues.

Improper Authorship: All listed authors must have made a significant contribution to the research and must approve the final version of the manuscript. Adding individuals who did not contribute significantly or omitting those who did is unethical.

Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could bias their research. This includes:

• Funding sources

• Employment, consultancies, or stock ownership

• Any other financial interests that might influence the research

Ethical Treatment of Subjects: Research involving human or animal subjects must adhere to ethical standards. Authors must ensure that appropriate ethical approval was obtained from institutional review boards or ethics committees. Additionally, authors must include statements confirming that informed consent was obtained and that proper measures were taken to protect the welfare of the subjects.

Peer Review Confidentiality: Reviewers must maintain confidentiality regarding the content of the manuscripts they review and must not use information gained through the peer-review process for personal advantage.

Consequences of Misconduct: Allegations of misconduct will be thoroughly investigated. Actions may include, but are not limited to:

• Retraction of published articles

• Notification to authors' institutions and funding bodies

• Banning authors from future submissions to Frontiers in Mathematical and Computational Research

• Public disclosure of misconduct

Reporting Misconduct: Any concerns or allegations of misconduct should be reported to the editorial office at [editorial email]. All reports will be handled confidentially and investigated thoroughly.
