Frontiers in Mathematical and Computational Research (FMCR) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and originality in scholarly publishing. Plagiarism in any form is considered unethical and unacceptable. The journal follows strict plagiarism detection and prevention measures to ensure the authenticity of submitted manuscripts.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the practice of using someone else's work, ideas, text, or research findings without proper acknowledgment. It includes, but is not limited to:

  • Direct Copying: Reproducing text, figures, tables, or other content from another source without proper citation.

  • Paraphrasing Without Attribution: Rewording substantial portions of another author’s work without giving appropriate credit.

  • Self-Plagiarism: Reusing one's own previously published work without proper citation or justification.

  • Data Fabrication and Falsification: Manipulating or inventing data, results, or references to mislead readers.

Plagiarism Detection and Prevention

  • Plagiarism Screening: All submitted manuscripts undergo a plagiarism check using specialized plagiarism detection software to identify similarities with published works.

  • Acceptable Similarity Index: FMCR allows a similarity index of up to 15%, excluding references, quotes, and methodological descriptions. A higher similarity percentage may result in immediate rejection or a request for revision.

  • Editor’s Review: If plagiarism is detected, the editorial team will assess the extent and nature of the issue before deciding on further actions.

Consequences of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is identified at any stage of the publication process, the following actions may be taken:

  • Before Acceptance: The manuscript will be rejected immediately, and the author(s) may be prohibited from submitting future manuscripts to FMCR.

  • After Publication: If plagiarism is discovered post-publication, the paper may be retracted, and a retraction notice will be issued. The author's affiliated institution may also be notified.

  • Serious Offenses: Severe cases of plagiarism may lead to permanent blacklisting of the author(s) from FMCR and notification to relevant academic bodies.

Author Responsibilities

  • Ensure all sources are properly cited and referenced.

  • Obtain permission for using copyrighted materials, including images, tables, and extended excerpts.

  • Disclose if the manuscript contains previously published material, with proper citation and justification.

Appeals and Complaints

Authors who believe their manuscript has been unfairly flagged for plagiarism may appeal by providing a detailed justification. Appeals will be reviewed by the editorial board, whose decision will be final.
